Overview

Unitec is part of Te Pūkenga, New Zealand’s national network of polytechnics, industry training organisations and institutes of technology.
We offer a wide range of work-oriented programmes and short courses that are employment-focused and taught at our two campuses in Mt. Albert and Waitākere.

Unitec has been a leader in applied tertiary education since 1976. From small beginnings, it has evolved into a dynamic and innovative institution that is redefining what an Institute of Technology should be. Unitec is the largest Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics (ITP) in New Zealand, with 12,284 students (2019), including 1,599 international students, from over 80 countries. Unitec is recognised for its vocational and applied professional education and practically orientated research.
