As a Water Science major, students will gain an understanding of water movement within the earth's water cycle while managing water at the watershed scale, learn about groundwater and surface water hydrology, water law, policy, and economics, the chemistry of natural and contaminated water (water quality), water-ecosystem interactions and it's relationship to climate variability, and water resources development, use and management.
Career opportunities associated with the Water Science major include positions such as water or environmental scientist, hydrologic technician, program specialist wellhead protection, water resources research technician, water quality specialist, wetland hydrologist, environmental consultant, or become a graduate student in hydrology, hydrogeology, water sciences, hydrologic sciences, etc.
