Strong reading skills are critically important for everyone to succeed, and kids need educators like you who can help them build a solid foundation. At UAB, we can improve your classroom skills and give you an extensive knowledge of reading pedagogy.
The Reading Education program is designed to prepare students for reading leadership at the classroom, school, and district levels. The curriculum addresses the individual needs of a variety of learners to support reading and writing development and achievement. Curriculum includes courses geared toward working with dual language learners and addressing children with Dyslexia. There is also targeted coursework on the seminal research supporting best practices in literacy as well as exploring recent, most current research in the field of reading.
