The Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Information Technology enables students to undertake an advanced programme of study, covering a wide range of areas to further their academic subject area knowledge of information technology and research skills to obtain employment or advance their careers.
Graduates of this programme (depending on their previous education, experience, and choice of electives) could work in positions of responsibility in business analysis, business intelligence, data analytics, information security and forensics, information technology management, project management, software development, and software quality assurance.
Graduates may also apply to enrol in the Master of Applied Information Technology, with up to 90 cross-credits.

A bachelor degree in Computing or Information Technology or a related subject area, with a grade average at level 7 of B or better in the final year of full-time study, or equivalent part-time study; or A Postgraduate Certificate in Computing or Information Technology or a related subject area; or An equivalent qualification as considered by the Centre's Postgraduate Programme Committee. Selection Candidates will be required to attend a selection interview/hui and may attend with whānau support. Special admission Domestic candidates aged 20 years or above who do not meet these entry requirements may be considered for special admission. In such cases entry will be dependent on whether candidates can demonstrate likelihood of success in the programme.
