Summary

Increased public awareness of environmental issues, new environmental regulations, growing costs of compliance with these regulations, and significant penalties for violating them mean that the need for employees with training in environmental and natural resource economics is expanding rapidly.

The Natural Resource and Environmental Economics major combines in-depth study of the natural sciences with economics, law and other social sciences. In addition, the program emphasizes the assessment of public policies regulating the use of natural resources and environmental amenities.
