In Year 2, you'll participate in either an unpaid or paid field placement in consultation with the Field Placement Coordinator in an industry-related private or public organization (in areas such as investigation, insurance, resource protection, loss prevention, physical security, or public safety) where you'll get hands-on work experience in the field.
Acquire a professional licence
After successful completion of the first semester, you can apply for a training completion number, which will make you eligible to be tested, at your own expense, for the provincially regulated licences to be a private investigator and security professional (the Dual Licence). Candidates for the Dual Licence must complete Emergency First Aid and CPR ‘C’ training with a St. John Ambulance certified instructor or with a first aid trainer approved by the WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) to comply with the provincial licences and program placement requirements.

Note: Program duration for September starts is two academic years. Program duration for January starts is 16 months continuous.
