Horticulture is the science and art of growing and using trees, shrubs, flowers and other landscape plants, along with fruits and vegetables to enhance our living environment and to diversify human diets. It includes landscape design, organic farming, entrepreneurship, research, and crop production in greenhouses, fields, and nurseries.
The study of horticulture opens doors to a variety of careers that utilize the science and art of plants. With a degree in horticulture, careers are possible as a landscape designer, educator, field or lab researcher, greenhouse manger, horticultural business owner, floral designer, nursery manager, plant propagator or grower, vineyard manager and more.
