The Geomatics Engineering Technology diploma program is a two year course of study leading to a Diploma in Geomatics that is nationally recognized. Students in this program acquire a solid background in applied math, physics, cartography, photogrammetry, plane surveying, geodetic surveying and computer applications.
Geomatics Engineering Technology graduates are in high demand and primarily find job opportunities with surveying and engineering firms as well as with companies involved in oil & gas, mining, and other resource-based industries. Government mapping, planning, and engineering departments and a range of utility companies are also typical employers.
BCIT’s Geomatics diploma is accredited by TAC (Technology Accreditation Canada) and recognized internationally. Employment may be found throughout Canada and around the world.
