Computed Tomography (CT) technologists are highly skilled professionals that use x-ray technology to take cross-sectional images of the body. CT technologists operate the CT unit, evaluate patient's medical history, position patients for complete anatomy desired, establish appropriate parameters for quality and safety of patients, perform 3D post-processing images, and utilize informatics and related equipment. In addition, they are responsible for dispensing oral contrast to patients, performing venipuncture, evaluating CT scans for quality and accuracy, assisting the radiologist with special procedures and providing the care for the psychological and physical needs of the patient.
CT Technologists have direct contact with healthy patients, critically ill inpatients, and outpatients of all ages, assisting patients to and from the exam table, and positioning them correctly for the anatomy desired, as well as, working with computers that uses the latest technology.
