In some ways, the role of pharmacists hasn't changed much in the last 100 years—they remain respected figures who are on the front lines of helping to meet the healthcare needs of their communities. In other ways, thanks to technology and an increasingly complex healthcare system, becoming a pharmacist requires more training and expertise than ever. The Pre-Pharmacy program at MTSU offers students the knowledge they will need to take the next step along this challenging career path.
Students interested in pursuing a career as a pharmacist can begin that journey with this three-year program. Coupled with one year of successful work in pharmacy school, this Pre-Professional path will yield a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree, with a concentration in Health Science, from MTSU's Department of Chemistry. (Four years of additional study in pharmacy school are required for completion of the Doctor of Pharmacy degree.)
